RIDER: Adam Treasure
Adam commenced his racing career in 1995, racing an historic sidecar and securing numerous race wins and lap records along the way. In the Historic sidecar class Adam has held three consecutive Australian Championships plus every State Championship and still holds the lap records at most tracks within Australia. In 2004, Adam moved to the premier sidecar class and raced a F1 LCR sidecar, placing 14th in the Australian Championships, and in 2005 Treasure Racing finished 4th for the year. In 2006, Adam won the Australian Sidecar Championship, which marks the pinnacle of this sport in Australia. In 2007, Adam took Treasure Racing to Europe and competed in all 7 rounds of the World
Championship, finishing 14th for the year in the personal standings and 10th out of 35 teams in the team standings. Adam plans to up the ante considerably in 2010 with the new sidecar.
PASSENGER: Darren Dewhurst
Darren commenced his passenger racing career in 1991 with Bill King Racing, won the 1991 Stars of Tomorrow meeting at Phillip Island and raced at Bathurst several years later. Over the past 18 years of Road Racing Sidecar Passenger duties, Darren has become one of the most versatile passengers in Australia and his results in the last 5 years include third places in the 2004 and 2005 Championships. Darren finished First in the F2 (600cc) class in the Australian championship in 2006, achieved a First in the Australian Championship in the F1 class in 2007 and followed that up with a Second in 2008 at the Australian Championship, each time demonstrating the flexibility needed to support different riders. Darren possesses an ability to inspire confidence in any rider that he passengers
for and brings out the best in his riders by working as a cohesive team member. Darren is renowned for his professionalism and teamwork, qualities that are essential in the pursuit of results at the front of any race field. Darren is passionate about his sport and, like Adam, sees great things ahead in 2010.
With a top speed of 280 km/h and the ability to accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 2.8 seconds, Formula 1 Sidecars are the racing equivalent of the Formula 1 car. The LCR sidecar ridden by Treasure Racing is used by 90 percent of teams competing in the World Sidecar Championship, European Championship and the British Championship. The chassis for this state-of-the-art machine is fabricated from aircraft aluminium, with the suspension constructed from a chrome molybdenum steel alloy, the passenger’s platform being made of a carbon/aluminium honeycomb and the fairing constructed from carbon-Kevlar
